odd couture

Breathing life into abandoned clothing

Living in a throwaway society, my “odd couture” is an attempt to restore the consciousness for the resources invested in a piece of clothing. First, there is the material itself, for that our natural resources were used and second there’s the time and energy, that was put by the person who fabricated the product.

I only paint and draw on clothes, that I found in the streets, or on second hand clothing. By equipping them with expressive images, I hope to establish an emotional connection between the spectator and the abandoned garment. Being commodity and artwork at the same time my “odd couture” also questions the different appreciations of both human creations.
